New Player Card Feature, Treasure Hunt Behind the Scenes, and More!

Earlier Billybob made a post on the CPIP blog about one of the new features that will come out in the end of May. It turns out the next New Feature will be: A Clothing Organizer! Check out the whole post here:

New Feature update: Player Card

Hello Penguins!
A lot of you have mentioned that it’s really hard to find the item you’re looking for in your inventory and it can take a long time. It can get confusing too, especially for those of you with a lot of items!

I wanted to let you know that the player card inventory is being improved at this very moment! When the new features launch at the end of May, all of your clothing and accessories will be better organized and really easy to find. The team has been working really hard on a new design for the inventory–a lot of you have suggested grouping items and making separate tabs for them and I think you’ll be happy with how it turns out!

As always let us know what you think! I’ll have more info next week on the next feature!

Until then…waddle on!

-The Club Penguin Team
That sounds awesome!
Also, Screenhog made a post on the Club Penguin blog about the making of the game “Treasure Hunt”. Here it is:

Treasure Hunt Game (by Screenhog!)

Hi everyone, it’s Screenhog!
Last week we launched the Treasure Hunt game in the Captain’s Quarters of Rockhopper’s ship and from what we heard, a lot of you enjoyed it! Rockhopper is gone from Club Penguin now, and that means the game is gone too. But don’t worry, you’ll be able to play Treasure Hunt again when Rockhopper returns.

Treasure Hunt, as you all probably know, is Club Penguin’s first ever cooperative game, where you and a friend can earn coins together. Here’s some behind-the-scenes art from the game:

image001.png
Those are most of the dirt tiles made for the game. Treasure Hunt is a tile-based game, which means that a lot of the art for it was broken up into square pieces that could be used as many times as the game needs them. Each tile was made separately by an artist and then another designer took the tiles and programmed each one to change on the board after each move. Cool stuff.

image002.png

This is the rough art of the wood fence that surrounds the Treasure Hunt game. After this sketch, an artist put clean black lines on top of it, colored in the wood planks and then it was ready to hold all the dirt tiles!

Oh, and before I forget, thanks for all the wonderful comments about the clothing catalog! We’re glad you’re having fun with it! There are a lot of secrets in this catalog–have you found them all? There’s one that’s not an item, but it’s still pretty cool!

Until then…waddle on!

-The Club Penguin Team

That is pretty cool!
In other newsy news, a new poll came out today. It asks, “What theme did you choose to write about for the story contest?” Well, I am not going to take part in that contest (because I suck at stories), but if I didn’t, I would choose the “Secret Mission” :D
There is even a new fishing wallpaper on this page.

Also, there is a new Aqua Grabber coloring picture here. Click on it to print it out.
Until Next Time,

Treasure Hunt Guide

With the release of Rockhopper’s Quarters came a new game. It is called “Treasure Hunt.”

This game requires two people, strategy, and patience.

You and your partner have to work together to get the highest amount of coins possible within a limited amount of turns. (6)

There are two sides of the board – the horizontal side (rows) and the vertical side (columns). Player 1 (the first person to join the game) digs the rows and Player 2 (the second person to join the game) digs the columns.

The game starts out with two layers of sand in each of the 100 squares. With each dig, a layer of sand is gone in the entire row/column the player chose.

When the next player goes, the column and row will intersect, and the sand will be dug all the way down in the square they intersected in.

There are 3 types of treasures you can find.

Coin: 1 coin Image
Ruby: 25 coins Image
Emerald: 100 coins Image

A Image indicates that a piece of treasure is buried in that square under 1 layer of sand.

If you see two sparkles right next to each other like this:ImageImage it probably means there is a ruby or emerald under that sand, because they take up more space than just a regular coin, and it is very rare that two coins would be next to each other.

The key of the game is to find the rubies and the emerald. There is only one emerald in every game, so if you get it, you hit the jackpot. :D

This is what comes up if you find the emerald.

Image
I know I spelled wordpress wrong

I’m pretty sure there are at least 3 rubies in every game.

There are probably somewhere around 25 coins in every game.

If anyone has anything to add, please comment it!

P.S My high score on this game is 154. We got an emerald, two rubies, and four coins. (the game you see above with me and Vtiscool)

Rockhopper’s Key!!!!!

Rockhopper’s Key is finally out!!! Yess!!!

Here is the riddle he gave us. This must mean it is in the book room and in his journal somewhere!

It is in the last page of his journal. Here is how to find it:

1) Go to the town

2) Enter the Coffee Shop

3) Click on the stairs leading to the book room

4) Click on the red book in the left hand corner

5) Click on Rockhopper’s Journal

6) Flip to the last page and get the key!

Once you have the key, go to the ship hold and you should be able to enter the Captain’s Quarters!

The key in your inventory acts as a pin. You can wear it, just like a pin.

You can see the Capitan’s Quarters here without logging on.

This is a view of the whole room.

In the Captain’s Quarters, you can also play a game called “Treasure Hunt.” If you get the hang of it, and partner is not an idiot, than you should really enjoy the game. I sure do.

The object of the game is to work together and find buried treasure. There are coins, rubys, and emeralds. The coins are each worth one coin, the rubys are each worth 25 coins, and the emeralds (very rare) are worth 100 coins.

Coin: 1 coin

Ruby: 25 coins

Emerald: 100 coins

Player 1 clicks any row and Player 2 clicks a column. If you both work together, you can easily get over 50 coins in this fun and rewarding game.

And guess what? There is also ANOTHER room! It is the crows nest. You can get to it by going to the Migrator and rolling your mouse over the mast. A ladder will come down and when you click it, you will be on the crows nest!

Rockhopper’s Return

Rockhopper came a day early for some reason. Anyways, he brought us a couple of items! One is a red and black Sailor Shirt, and the other is a rare flower pot, which is actually a furniture item.

Rockhopper came back in a rowboat so he could get here faster.

Here is what the red and black sailor shirt looks like on your penguin.

Here is what the rare flower pot looks like when it is in your igloo. I don’t really get what it is supposed to do…

Remember, the target is moving so click just a little bit ahead of where the target is going. And it takes longer for the snowball to travel the farther the penguin is from you.
7. Once you win, they’ll give you the target. Give them back the Rescue Tube so they can continue practicing.
8. Go to the HQ. Talk to G and tell him you need to use the Electromagnet 3000. He say’s the combination is ‘key’.

New Play at the Stage, New Pin Hidden, and Rockhopper News

The new play at the Stage is awesome! It is called “Quest for the Golden Puffle”

It seems to be based on Indiana Jones! Its pretty cool.

The costumes are also great. I like the mummy one the best!

Here is a pic of the whole stage:

The Stage

You can find the new pin at the Book Room. It is a pyramid.

In other news, Rockhopper’s ship is finally completed! Thanks to all the penguins who helped find the missing pieces by playing Aqua Grabber! You can also go into the ship hold.

Rockhopper’s Journal Was recovered in the wreckage of his ship. However, it was too wet for penguins to read it. So, the newspaper staff helped rewrite it. You can now read it at the Book Room (second floor of the coffee shop).

Have fun!
